Reputable tailors Hoi An?
Hi,
I am travelling to Hoi an at the end of september and plan on getting my wedding dress made there, I have the simple design, fabric and colour chosen, can you recommend reputable tailors and approx prices. thanks
Definitely Yaly. They have 4 different shops, and I am not sure which one specializes in dresses, but I am certain they will tell you once you go into any of their shops.
My experiences in Hoi An with having clothes made is that my satisfaction level is directly proportional to the amount of time I have spent in the tailor shop. So, be prepared to spend a lot of time at the tailor for your wedding dress. I imagine it will take them quite a while to make it if you want it to be done well. I often go to Hoi An for a weekend and they will make simple shirts / pants on the fly but a dress takes longer — so I imagine a wedding dress might take up to a week.
Yaly is the most expensive tailor in Hoi An but I do think they are the best. You can probably expect to pay anywhere from $50 – 300 for your dress to be made — cheaper only because you already have the fabric with you.
Good luck! And while you’re in Hoi An waiting for your dress, you will have no end of other things to do… they have lovely beaches, excellent food, and very good cooking courses.
